BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Bohemians announced today that former US international Santino Quaranta has been appointed head coach of the PDL squad.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Bohemians organization,” said Quaranta. “I look forward to building a winning squad that Baltimore can be proud to call its own.”

As a player, the Baltimore native spent 11 seasons in Major League Soccer, his time split between D.C. United, Los Angeles Galaxy and New York Red Bulls. With D.C., Quaranta won the MLS Cup in 2004, and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2008. He earned 15 caps for the United States national team, and was a member of the Gold Cup-winning U.S. squad in 2005.

After retiring, Quaranta co-founded Pipeline Soccer Club, an elite youth club based in the Baltimore area. He serves as Technical Director and Vice President of the club, which has more than 40 competitive teams, an academy, recreational programs, camps and private training.

“We are very excited to have Santino on board,” said Bohs General Manager James Tirabassi. “His experience both on and off the pitch will be invaluable to young players in the Baltimore area looking to make the move into the professional ranks.”

Baltimore's season kicks off on Saturday May 17 on the road to Northern Virginia Royals. Their first home match is Saturday May 31 against NJ-LUSO Parma at Calvert Hall in Towson. Tickets to all home matches are available at baltimorebohemians.com.
