CLINTON, Miss. -- The Mississippi Brilla have been getting mixed results so far this season, and tonight’s 1-0 loss to the Orlando City Lions just makes their season more confusing. Coming into the match with a 3-1 record, Brilla was looking to remain atop the Premier Development League’s Southeastern Division standings, however, Orlando City (now 3-2-1) had other ideas.

Tyler Blackwood capitalized on a poor Mississippi back pass to slot the intercepted ball past a helpless Brendan Ledgeway for the game’s only goal in the 27th minute.

Both teams struggled to create many dangerous chances during the game, with the best chances for the Brilla being two Phillip Buffington shots that Orlando City’s Tomas Gomez was able to skillfully save.

Brilla has one more home game before a three-game road trip in Florida. They host the SW Florida Adrenaline this Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Clinton High School.
