Super Y-League News Release

Thursday, June 6, 2013

TAMPA, Fla. – United Soccer Leagues released the U13 age group qualification allotments today for the 2013 Super Y-League North American Finals, presented by Nike. A total of 16 boys’ teams and eight girls’ teams from the Mid Atlantic, North Atlantic, South Atlantic, New England, Midwest and Southeast divisions will meet at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, from December 5-9 to compete for the Super Y-League championship.

The 2012 U12 boys runner-up, Alpharetta Ambush Soccer Club, is back to compete in 2013 in the South Atlantic Division, hoping to once again earn a berth at the North American Finals. Also hoping for a return trip is Orlando City SC, a 2012 semifinalist from the Southeast Division. Six teams out of the North Atlantic Division will receive berth allocations for the 2013 finals, along with three teams from New England, two from the Midwest, Southeast and Mid Atlantic, and one team that will emerge from the South Atlantic Division.

For the girls, 2012 U12 runners-up the Kalamazoo Kingdom of the Midwest Division and 2012 semifinalists Rage SC out of the North Atlantic Division will be two of the teams to watch. The New England and Midwest divisions will be allotted two finals berths each, while the Southeast, South Atlantic, Mid Atlantic and North Atlantic divisions will have one finalist emerge.

IMG Academy, a division of IMG Worldwide, the global sports, fashion and media company, is the world’s largest and most advanced multi-sport training and education complex. IMG Academy hosted a myriad of soccer team training camps in 2012, including clubs such as the Seattle Sounders, D.C.
