FULLERTON, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Blues welcome the Pittsburgh Riverhounds this Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. PT at Titan Stadium on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. The Blues are currently unbeaten at Titan Stadium, winning all three games, and have outscored opponents 7-0.
The Blues currently sit in second place in the USL PRO standings with a 4-3-0 record. In their last game, Los Angeles defeated a 10-man Wilmington Hammerhead team 4-0, with goals by Shay Spitz, Mershad Momeni, Chris Cortez and Juan Perez-Bernal.
Momeni’s first half goal earned him USL PRO Team of the Week honors, as well as receiving mention on the USL Goals of the Week. The Blues offense is coming from all positions on the field, as they have scored 13 goals this season by 10 different players. George Davis IV is the team’s leading goal scorer with three, followed by Chris Cortez with two. Rounding out the Blues offense is USL PRO assists leader, Rodrigo Lopez, with four assists for the season.
Pittsburgh won’t only have their hands full with the Blues offense, but also with the Blues defense. Goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski and the rest of the Blues defense has yet to allow a goal at Titan Stadium.
The Riverhounds, who are 0-4-2, are looking for their first win of the season this week. The Riverhounds rallied to take a 1-1 draw against Phoenix FC on Friday night, Andrew Marshall scoring the equalizer with just over 10 minutes to play against the Wolves.
