NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Westchester Flames F.C. have re-signed midfielder/defender Housainou Ogoo and added midfielder/defender Jonathon Waters for the 2013 USL PDL season. Ogoo is a familiar face to fans of the Flames, having played the past three seasons with the team and serving as the team’s captain for the 2011 and 2012 USL PDL seasons. In 2012, Ogoo played in 11 games for the Flames, primarily in defense.
A native of Gambia, Ogoo previously played three seasons for English club Greenwich Borough F.C. After moving to the United States, Ogoo played amateur soccer for New York based clubs NY Irish Rovers in the LISFL, Landsdowe Bhoys in the CSL, and currently with Yonkers Portuguese in the EDSL.
Waters is from Rochdale, England and played the past two seasons for Bloomfield College. Prior to attending Bloomfield, Waters played for South Georgia College. Before moving to the United States, Waters trained at the famous Manchester United Training Academy in Carrington, England alongside future England internationals Danny Welbeck and Frazier Campbell. Waters went on to play for academy teams at Rochdale A.F.C and Bury F.C.
"It’s terrific that Housainou has agreed to play for us again this season," Flames coach Gus Skoufis said. "He’s been a key member of the team the past few seasons and we look forward to having him play a significant role in our team for the coming season. Jonathon is a terrific player that our fans are really going to enjoy watching. Like Housainou, Jonathon has a lot of experience in the game, but is still very young and both have a great future ahead of them in soccer."
