RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce the first signing of the 2013 season, having agreed to terms with local homegrown talent, Joseph Haboush, pending USSF approval.
“Signing Joseph was an easy decision for our staff as he impressed on several levels,” said Leigh Cowlishaw, Richmond Kickers Director of Soccer. “From his time with VCU we have always admired his confidence and composure on the ball. We believe his soccer attributes will fit our style of play perfectly.
“In addition, we were blown away by Joseph's enthusiasm and desire to represent his local professional team. Joseph's signing is another significant step in the evolution of professional player development in the City of Richmond and we are delighted to have him part of our squad.”
A native of Richmond, Va., Haboush signs with the Kickers after a standout collegiate career at Virginia Commonwealth University where he made 56 appearances and recorded three goals and 10 assists. A First-Team All-Metro player at Benedictine High School, he spent two seasons with the Richmond Strikers U16 Elite and U18 Academy teams.
