SILVER SPRING, Md. – The heat will be felt on and off the pitch this weekend as two of the top teams in the PDL’s South Atlantic Division, Real Maryland FC and the Carolina Dynamo, meet on Sunday afternoon at Richard Montgomery High School at 4 p.m. The first 100 fans will receive a free Real Maryland FC rally towel with the support from our partner Buffalo Wild Wings.
Forming one of the best attacking duos in the PDL, the Monarchs' forwards are getting recognized for their hard work and great play. After their performances this past week, David Neuberth and Aboubacarim “Mbaye” Ndaw were awarded with being named to PDL’s Team of the Week as Honorable Mentions.
This is Neuberth’s fourth time being named on PDL’s Team of the Week as an Honorable Mention adding to his selection to the Team of the Week in the opening week of the season. Neuberth is tied for second in the league in both goals, with nine, and points, with 21, and is a leading contender for end-of-season honors in both the Eastern Conference and the overall PDL.
Ndaw has turned up his play in the past couple of weeks. He was named to PDL’s Team of the Week last week and named Honorable Mention on Thursday, having gone on a hot streak that has seen him tally four of his five goals in the past three weeks, going along with three assists. He is second on the team with 13 points.
Other Monarchs who have received recognition by the United Soccer Leagues are defender Bush Yormie (two-time Honorable Mention), midfielder Julio Arjona (two-time Honorable Mention) as well as both Paul Andrews and Dustin Butcher, who have both been Honorable Mention's on the PDL’s Team of the Week once.
Real Maryland FC SYL Players and Future Soccer Club Players wearing their yellow game jersey to Sunday's game will receive free admittance, while the first 100 people through the gate will receive a Real Maryland yellow rally towel sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings.
