HAMDEN, Conn. - Connecticut FC Azul are proud to announce another player commitment for the 2012 season. Patrick Boucher, a senior at the University of Hartford, will join the Azul for their inaugural season.
"Pat Boucher comes to the Azul following a stellar career at Hartford,” Azul head coach David Kelly said. “I have known him since he was in high school, and he is an athlete par excellence. He is one of the quickest, most agile players I've seen, and he will delight and entertain the crowd. I believe that the Azul is just a stepping stone in this talented player’s young career."
Boucher, a native of Cromwell, Conn., started all 21 games for Hartford this season. He tallied five points off one goal and three assists. As a junior, Boucher led the team in scoring with seven points and led the team with three goals. Boucher started 15 games for the Hawks and was named to the American East Commissioner’s Honor Roll at the end of the season.
As a sophomore, Boucher was third on the team in scoring with nine points off of three goals and three assists. Each of his three goals were game-winners. He was named to the American East Honor Roll as a sophomore. As a freshman, Boucher finished the season as the team's second-leading scorer, with six points off two goals and two assists. He was also an American East All-Rookie Team selection.
Before his collegiate career, Boucher played at Cromwell High School where he was a co-captain his senior year and a four year varsity player. His senior year he was named Hartford Courant Player of the Year, Connecticut High School Player of the Year and Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year. He was also voted All-state, All-New England and All-American during his junior and senior seasons. He left Cromwell High School as the record holder for goals and assists with 93 goals and 45 assists. Boucher also represented the United States on the U-18 National Select team.
