CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Charleston Battery has agreed to terms with defender Colin Falvey; Falvey joined the Battery prior to the 2010 season and was a member of the side that won the 2010 championship. Falvey comes to Charleston subject to USL and USSF approval.
“Getting Colin back is very important for our defense as he brings a wealth of experience in our league and with our younger players,” Battery coach Mike Anhaeuser said.
A native of Cork, Ireland, Falvey has played 46 games for Charleston scoring one goal and adding three assists.
Falvey, 6-foot-1, 175 lbs., 26 yrs., has also played professionally for New Zealand’s YoungHeart Manawatu, Cobh Ramblers and Kilkenny City in the League of Ireland and in the US with the Wilmington Hammerheads.
The Charleston Battery kick off their 20th Anniversary Season with the Carolina Challenge Cup tournament February 29-March 3 at Blackbaud Stadium, which will feature D.C. United, Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire from Major League Soccer.
