SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Silver Knights fell to the Baltimore Blast, 18-10 Sunday, slipping to 3-3 but holding steady in second place in the MISL’s Eastern Division. The roaring crowd of 2,317 at the Oncenter War Memorial Arena helped the Silver Knights pull within two points of the division-leading Blast during the second quarter with the score at 10-8. The Silver Knights, however, were unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities in the second half. It was the third consecutive loss for the Silver Knights, who have been unable to break out of their current slump following a strong 3-0 start to the season.
The Blast improved to 4-1 with the victory and were able to avenge an 18-7 loss to the Silver Knights on November 13. The Blast held on to first place in the Eastern Division thanks to back-to-back victories this weekend. Baltimore built upon Saturday night’s dominant 26-9 victory against the Rochester Lancers. Excellent goalkeeping by Sagu was instrumental in Sunday’s win as he tallied 30 saves. Two scores each from J.T. Noone and Matt Watson helped secure the victory.
Tommy Tanner’s Silver Knights head to Hartman Arena this Friday, December 2, where they will face the 1-4 Wichita Wings. It will be the first of four consecutive away games for Syracuse. The Silver Knights return to the Oncenter War Memorial Arena on December 23 for a matchup against the Missouri Comets.
