LAREDO, Texas -- At a festive Macy’s courtyard at Mall del Norte, several members of the Laredo Heat Soccer Club joined Big Buck Country 98.1 FM at their 6th Annual Make-A-Wish Foundation of South/Central Texas Fundraiser.
The Heat took advantage to announce their continued partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South/Central Texas for their upcoming 2012 Season and once again pledged to sponsor a Laredo Wish Child with a $5,000 donation to the charitable organization.
In addition, the Heat agreed that from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the telethon, any donation to the cause would be matched by the Heat Owners Shashi and Priya Vaswani. The matching contribution was announced on the air by Heat General Manager J.J. Vela and Defensive All-Conference Player Carlos Ordaz.
“Being able to participate with the Make-A-Wish Foundation over the years has been a blessing for my family and for all the members of the Laredo Heat organization”, said Heat Owner Shashi Vaswani. “Seeing the Wish Child being granted their wish never gets old and we are happy to once again be able to partner with Make-A-Wish in 2012.
