ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City is proud to announce that player/coach Ian Fuller has been named as the color commentator for the 2011 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s Soccer Championship broadcasts on ESPN3.
“I am very excited to be working with ESPN and the MAAC,” said Fuller. “This will also be a great opportunity for Orlando City fans to see some quality live soccer in the offseason.”
The tournament features all 10 member schools from the MAAC, including 19th-ranked Iona Gaels and runs from Thursday, November 3, to Monday, November 7. The ESPN3 broadcasts, anchored by Fuller, will cover two quarter-final matches on Friday, two semi-final matches on Sunday, and the Championship Game on Monday.
Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports will serve as the venue for the tournament. The WWoS is no stranger to hosting major soccer tournaments, as it has been the home for the Disney Pro Soccer Classic for the last two seasons. Orlando City participated in last year’s tournament, with Ian Fuller scoring the game-winning goal against Major League Soccer’s Toronto FC.
Orlando City will be providing additional coverage of the matches on both Friday and Monday on www.orlandocitysoccer.com, and will have team previews leading up to the tournament.
Tickets for the tournament can be purchased at the WWoS box office. Single day tickets are $14.50, and an all-tournament pass is available for $29. The final schedule for the tournament will be available on October 31, following the conclusion of MAAC regular season play on October 30.
