PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Pittsburgh Riverhounds welcome the return of Thabiso ‘Boyzzz’ Khumalo for the 2011 season, pending USL and USSF approval. Khumalo returns to Pittsburgh after two-year stint with D.C. United.
Khumalo played for the Riverhounds in 2008 as an outside attacker and gained the interest of D.C. United’s General Manager, Dave Kasper. Following the Riverhounds’ season, Khumalo went on loan to D.C. and his performance landed him a contract to play for one of Major League Soccer’s most respected clubs for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
The Riverhounds are excited to bring Khumalo back to Pittsburgh for the inaugural USL PRO season. His exposure to the highest level of soccer in America will bring the experience and training mentality of a true professional to every training session.
“Boyzzz’s experience, pace and creativity on the field will add a different dynamic to our philosophy,” Head Coach Justin Evans said. “His ability to attack one-on-one and get behind the defense should create problems for opposing defenders."
