OGDEN, Utah – The Ogden Outlaws have arranged an exciting opportunity to travel to Mexico to participate in two matches; one against the U-17 side of C.F. Pachuca and another against the second division professional squad of the C.F. Pachuca organization. A roster of U-19 players to be selected through an open try-out and special invitation, will travel to Mexico in October to train and be evaluated in game situations by professional coaches from Pachuca and other clubs of the Mexican First Division. These matches will take place October 10 - 14, 2011. This opportunity arranged by Ogden coach, Marcos Dominguez, potentially opens doors for those young creative soccer individuals seeking to move on to the professional level.
As a part of the Outlaws’ focus in developing young players and assisting these players in finding professional opportunities, it is our pleasure to welcome Gustavo Federico Guevara Montiel, who is currently the head coach of the Mexican third Division team of C.F. Pachuca, and Ignacio Juarez Herrera, who is currently employed by the Mexican First Division side, C.F. Pachuca, as a professional scout. Mr. Montiel and Mr. Herrera, will travel to Ogden, Utah to work with, and assist the Ogden Outlaws in this endeavor. With their coaching experience and connections to the professional leagues in Mexico, the Ogden Outlaws will be able to continue to provide a high level of training for those players associated with the Outlaws’ organization.
It is anticipated that forward Elias Hatungimana and mid-fielder Korbin Tafoya of the 2011 Ogden Outlaws will participate in this opportunity. Also, by special request from the coaches of Pachuca, forward Andy Cornia will also travel and participate with the team.
The U-19 open try-outs for this team to travel to Mexico will be held on August 26th and 27th at 5:30 PM at Uintah Elementary, 6115 South 2250 East, Ogden, Utah. There is a $50 registration fee to be paid on the first day of the try-out. The Ogden Outlaws are a member of the Premier Development League (PDL) – primarily an amateur soccer league run by United Soccer Leagues. The PDL consists of 64 teams in four conferences and nine divisions. The Ogden Outlaws compete in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference – along with the BYU Cougars, Ventura County Fusion, LA Blues 23, Fresno Fuego, Los Angeles Legends, Southern California Seahorses, and Orange County Blue Star. The Outlaws just completed their sixth season in the PDL.
