DAYTON, Ohio -- Coming off a disappointing lost against F.C. New York on Wednesday night, the Dayton Dutch Lions are looking forward to playing the final game of their inaugural professional season at Miami Valley South Stadium on Saturday night against the Wilmington Hammerheads.

Despite it being a long season, with many ups and downs, the players have continued to practice hard knowing a win is within their reach.

“We are all really wanting to finish our season with a good result and we will put all our effort into this last game,” Head Coach Ivar van Dinteren said.

One bright spot for the Dutch Lions has been the play of forward George Davis IV, who leads the team with seven goals. A member of the club since it was founded in 2010, playing last season in the UDL PDL, Davis will finish this season with more goals than he did a year ago when he had five. Davis is tied for eighth in USL PRO in both points (16) and goals.

The Dutch Lions will face a big challenge from Wilmington, though, as they try to rebound from a 2-0 defeat to the Richmond Kickers. Wilmington currently sits in second place in the American Division, but needs a win as the Kickers could overtake them as the season ends. Luke Mulholland has been a standout for the Hammerheads this season, currently tied for second in the league with 23 points, while the side has also had strong seasons from Andryi Budnyy, who has eight goals, and Chris Banks, who has six.

The Dutch Lions will be trying to end their season on a high, and tickets are still available for the season finale. Visit www.dutchlionsfc.com for more information; follow the Dutch Lions on Twitter @Daytondutchlion and on Facebook at facebook.com/DaytonDutchLions.
