CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Eagles host the Harrisburg City Islanders on Wednesday night at Charlotte Christian Stadium at 7 p.m.  with the opportunity clinch a playoff berth with a win. A strong performance on the road over the weekend has given the Eagles this opportunity. The Eagles (9-7-6, 33 points) defeated the National Division-leading Rochester Rhinos 3-0 on Friday night on goals by Sallieu Bundu, Darren Toby and Diego Martins.

The Eagles picked up another point on Saturday night by tying the playoff-bound Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2-2 on goals by Mark Bloom and Toby.

"We always expect a difficult game from Harrisburg City," said Eagles Head Coach Mark Steffens. The City Islanders (9-6-7, 34 points) trail the Rochester Rhinos by three points in the race for the National Division Championship. Harrisburg City has two games remaining while Rochester has one game left in 2011 campaign.

The Eagles close out the regular season on Friday night at 8 p.m. against the Charleston Battery in a game nationally televised on Fox Soccer Channel. The Eagles currently lead the Battery by one point in the race for the fourth and final playoff spot in the American Division of USL PRO.
