TAMPA, Fla. – With the 2011 USL PDL Championship Presented by Umbro looming this weekend, United Soccer Leagues has announced its 2010 PDL All-Conference Teams. The teams were selected through a vote of team management.
Each of the four PDL Finalists is well represented on the All-Conference teams. The Western Conference champion Kitsap Pumas, the host for this weekend’s PDL Championship Presented by Umbro at Bremerton Memorial Stadium, had a trio of players chosen for the Western Conference Team, including goalkeeper Bryan Meredith, defender Daniel Scott and midfielder Nikolas Besagno.
Kitsap is one of four clubs, along with Reading United AC, the Michigan Bucks and the Central Florida Kraze, to have three players selected.
The Eastern Conference champion Long Island Rough Riders, who finished 12-1-3 to capture the Mid Atlantic Division, are represented by forward Dominick Sarle, who tallied 10 goals and five assists in 16 games. In the Central Conference the Thunder Bay Chill are headed back to the final four for the second consecutive year, led by All-Central Conference selections Wilson Rodrigues-Neto on defense and Brandon Swartzendruber at forward.
Rounding out the final four is the Southern Conference champion Laredo Heat, who knocked off the Mississippi Brilla on penalties to reach the final four, and are represented on the All-Southern Conference Team by defender Carlos Ordaz and forward Esteban Bayona.
