GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - F.C. New York of USL PRO has added four former St. John’s University players to its 2011 team with the signings of Derby Carillo, Kyle Hoffer, David Reed and Tadeu Terra. The four signings are pending USL and USSF approval.

“These are four fine players,” F.C. New York Head Coach Matt Weston said. “Getting them back to Belson Stadium is as close to home as one can get.”

The players appeared together in Manhattan for the announcement at the Fitzpatrick Hotel prior to attending a viewing party for the UEFA Champions League match between Arsenal and Barcelona.

Derby Carillo

A 6-foot-4, 200-pound Salvadoran-American goalkeeper, Carillo played collegiately for both St. John’s and Cal State Dominguez Hills, finishing his career with the Red Storm in 2009. This will not be his first opportunity at the professional level, as he signed a contract with the Seattle Sounders of MLS in early 2010.

Kyle Hoffer

A 6-1, 170-pound native of nearby Bardonia, N.Y., Hoffer was the 2006 Rockland County player of the year. He enjoyed a productive two years at St. John’s after transferring from SUNY Oneonta, where he earned rookie of the year honors.

David Reed

The 5-8, 170-pound Reed played high school for Paramus Catholic, where he earned All-State honors. He started all 25 games for the Red Storm and anchored the defensive unit that notched a school-record and nation-leading 16 shutouts in 2010.

Tadeu Terra

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Terra played as an offensive midfielder for Instituto Abel before joining St. John’s. He earned NSCAA All-Northeast Region honors as a sophomore and was a second team All-Big East selection as a junior in 2009.

F.C. New York begins its season April 30 against Orlando City. Season tickets are now on sale. Special group ticket rates are available. Contact the F.C. New York ticket office for more information at 1-866-827-0154.
