Wednesday, March 2, 2011

DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are proud to announce the signing of Joe Tait for the 2011 USL PRO season.

Tait, a native of England, signed a three-year contract with the Lions. Recently having played for the USL Premier Development League's Baton Rouge Capitals, Tait was named the 2010 PDL Defender of the Year.

“We are very pleased with the arrival of the 2010 PDL Defender of year Joe Tait. Joe reflects our philosophy: young, ambitious and talented. Joe is a defender with good footballing qualities,” said Technical Director Cor Van Hoeven.

A great addition to the Dayton Dutch Lions FC defense, Tait has high expectations for the 2011 USL PRO season.

“After speaking with a few of the clubs’ officials I was attracted to the Lions by the clubs’ ambition, I felt that signing here was a fantastic opportunity for me and one I couldn’t turn down," Tait said.

Tait’s experience and talent will surely be an asset to the Lions as they kick off the inaugural season in the PRO Division of the USL against the Charleston Battery 16 April 2011 at Miami Valley South Stadium.

“Apart from my experience in professional football in England, I am bringing enthusiasm and a will to win. I want to be part of a successful team challenging for the championship and I want to bring that success to the Dayton community,” said Tait.
