TAMPA, Fla. – The Syracuse Silver Knights were unveiled today at a press conference at the Onondaga County War Memorial Arena, which will be the club’s home when it opens the Major Indoor Soccer League season in November.
Silver Knights President Tommy Tanner led the press conference, and he was joined by the club’s General Manager Jonathan Ramin, Vice President Peter Ramin and Chief Financial Officer Doug Taylor. A former indoor player with the Cleveland Crunch, as well as a former USL-1 player with the Rochester Rhinos and Syracuse Seadogs, Tanner was excited to be bringing indoor soccer back to Syracuse.
“This is a great occasion for the local soccer community,” Tanner said. “To have our team be part of a league that also contains teams such as the Baltimore Blast, Milwaukee Wave and the Wichita Wings, and to now have that league being run by USL, is going to give us the opportunity to make the Silver Knights a major part of the league for years to come.”
The Silver Knights also announced their season ticket packages for the season, which start at just $125 for children and $163 for adults and go all the way up to Family Four Pack season tickets for $540, guaranteeing the club will be affordable entertainment for all. The club is also offering lifetime season tickets for $500 which will only be available prior to the club’s inaugural season.
With a capacity of 5,300 at the Onondaga County War Memorial Arena, and affordable ticket prices, the club is expecting the fast-paced excitement that the MISL brings will have the Syracuse area eager to support the new franchise.
“Indoor soccer is a great game to watch, especially in person,” Tanner said. “The arena is such that no matter where you are sitting, you’ll be up close to the action and able to admire the amazing skills that indoor players have to offer.”
