TAMPA, Fla. – “USL Breakaway Magazine,” the fast-paced 30-minute highlight and feature show chronicling United Soccer Leagues and its system of elite-level amateur and professional leagues, debuts a new episode at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday, July 4 on FOX Soccer.
In the July episode, fans will get to see how USL PRO players make a difference off the field as we feature the Charlotte Eagles and their Urban Eagles program, which is changing children’s lives in inner city Charlotte. We also spend time with two of the bigger personalities in USL PRO, Wilmington Hammerheads Head Coach David Irving and Orlando City Head Coach Adrian Heath.
Later in the show have a chance to hear from U.S. Men’s National Team defender Tim Ream, who developed his game with the PDL’s Chicago Fire Premier. We also sit down with LA Blues midfielder Mike Randolph, who is hoping the 2011 season will help him climb back into MLS.
Great Moments in USL History looks at former W-League stars participating in the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, while our On the Spot segment asks current USL PRO stars about their favorite players while growing up, and who has been the biggest influence on their careers.
Hosted by the voice of USL, Kenn Tomasch, “USL Breakaway Magazine,” charts a new course in 2011. The show, in its sixth season, has become a year-round fixture featuring 12 monthly episodes thanks to an exciting new three-year broadcast deal between USL and FOX Soccer.
Another major aspect of the broadcast deal with FOX Soccer is the USL PRO Game of the Week, featuring 10 national broadcasts. The first replay of “USL Breakaway Magazine” airs at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday, July 6.
