WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Wilmington Hammerheads are excited and proud to announce that their next USL PRO home game on Friday night will be nationally televised on Fox Soccer.
The Hammerheads will take on their rivals from South Carolina, the Charleston Battery, in the live broadcast at 7:30 p.m. The Hammerhead organization is asking all fans who are planning to attend the game to participate in a “Blue Out” by wearing a blue t-shirt to the game and help create a mass of Hammerhead blue in the stands for the nation to see.
The Hammerheads organization is asking all fans who are planning to attend the game to participate in a “Blue Out” by wearing a blue t-shirt to the game and help create a mass of Hammerhead blue in the stands for the nation to see.
Leading up to the June 24th game, the Hammerheads will be selling blue Hammerhead t-shirts made specifically for the “Blue Out” for only $10! This is a savings of $8.
“Blue Out” t-shirts can be purchased online at www.wilmingtonhammerheadsmerchandise.com or at the stadium on game day! The merchandise booth at the stadium will open at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night during the Hammerheads' Open Cup game against the Charlotte Eagles.
Fox Soccer’s cameras will be set up on the main stand side, shooting the game with the visitor side in the background, therefore the Hammerhead’s are urging fans to consider sitting on the opposite side of the stadium to show their support on national television.
Announcing the play-by-play for Fox Soccer will be Kenn Tomasch, the voice of United Soccer Leagues. Tomasch also serves as host of USL’s 30-minute monthly highlight and feature show, “USL Breakaway Magazine.”
Earlier this year, USL and Fox Soccer Network agreed on a deal that includes a total of 15 live game broadcasts – 10 USL PRO regular season games as well as a USL PRO quarterfinal and semifinal, the USL PRO championship game and the championship games for the Premier Development League and W-League.
