DAYTON, Ohio -- The Dayton Dutch Lions (4-10-2) are set to host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (1-9-5) on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET at DOC Stadium. The Dutch Lions will be aiming to take victory in the second game of a home-and-home series after claiming a 1-0 win on Saturday night at Highmark Stadium.
Eli Garner scored the only goal on Saturday night as the Dutch Lions moved into 11th place in the USL PRO standings. Dayton is four points behind eighth-placed OKC Energy FC for the final place in the playoffs, and Head Coach Sid van Druenen is hoping his side can continue to make a move up the standings as the calendar turns to July.
“We all know how important this game is for us, a win is all the team is thinking off," van Druenen said. "We also know, after playing Pittsburgh last Saturday, that they have some very dangerous players and we will have to be on our best defensively once again to get the win on Tuesday.”
A player to watch on the Riverhounds is Collins John. The striker from Holland has four goals and one assist so far this season. John had two appearances for the Dutch national team and played for teams as FC Twente, Fulham and the Chicago Fire.
This game can be seen live via live stream on the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Youtube page. After this home game the Dayton Dutch Lions FC travel to Charlotte to play against the Charlotte Eagles on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
