PEORIA, Ariz. – Arizona United Soccer Club wraps up its four-match homestand this Saturday against the LA Galaxy II at the Peoria Sports Complex at 7 p.m. PST. The USL PRO match will be streamed live at arizonaunited.com.
Before the match, as part of Arizona United SC’s World Cup Road Show, a viewing party will be held at the Draft House in Peoria for the 12 p.m. PT encounter involving Germany and Ghana and the 3 p.m. match between Nigeria and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Arizona United SC snapped a five-match winless streak last Saturday on a Jonathan Top penalty kick in the 75th minute that propelled the side to a 1-0 win against the Rochester Rhinos. It was Arizona United SC’s second clean sheet of the season and first league victory in more than a month.
Brandon Swartzendruber and Top lead Arizona United SC with two goals apiece, and fellow forwards Bradlee Baladez and Kadeem Dacres each have three points. Arizona United SC is tied for ninth place in the USL PRO standings with 14 points.
Saturday’s meeting with LA Galaxy II is the second between the sides this year. On April 25, a second-half equalizer from Paolo DelPiccolo earned Arizona United SC a 1-1 draw.
Los Dos enters play on a two-match losing streak, having fallen to the Rochester Rhinos 2-1 on June 11, and the Charleston Battery 3-0 on June 14. LA Galaxy II is tied for second in the USL PRO standings with 27 points.
LA Galaxy II is led by forward Chandler Hoffman, who is tied for second in the league with eight goals. Forward Charles Rugg is second on the team with 10 points (four goals, two assists).
