CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Eagles take on Orange County Blues FC this Friday at 8 p.m. to kick off this weekend’s USL PRO action.
The clubs last met when the Eagles traveled to Irvine, California and defeated the Blues 2-0 on goals from Drew Yates and Ben Newnam. Charlotte's most recent game saw them face the Oklahoma City Energy FC, where the game ended in a 1-1 draw. It snapped the Eagles' three-game losing streak.
Charlotte's equalizer came from Wells Thompson, who received a through-ball from Fred Sekyere and slotted it by OKC's goalkeeper. Fresh in from Chicago, Alec Kann stood tall after the Eagles evened the score and helped the hosts to a well-earned point at home.
The Blues will make a stop in Wilmington Friday before coming to Charlotte. They will face the Hammerheads, who two weeks ago who defeated the Eagles 2-1.
