LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The undefeated LA Blues (4-0-0) will be at home on Sunday to take on the Colorado Storm (0-3-0) at the StubHub Center at 3 p.m. PT.
The Blues are coming off a hard-fought 2-0 victory against the Colorado Pride last Saturday. In what seemingly would end a scoreless draw, the Blues found a spark late in the game to take three points and solidify their first-place spot in the Western Conference table.
Defender Abby Dahlkemper, whose performance in the game earned her a W-League Team of the Week nomination, scored the game-winner in the 84th minute when she knocked in a Sarah Killion corner kick to lower right corner of the goal. In the 89th minute, Lynn Williams secured the win for the Blues when a bad clearance deflected off her body and into an open net.
The Storm is on the road for a two-game weekend in Southern California. Their first match of the trip was played on Friday against the Santa Clarita Blue Heat. While Madison Yoswa gave them an early lead in the 21st minute, the Storm lost after Natasa Radosavljevic scored two goals in the second half to give the home team a victory.
The Storm will continue to look for their first point of the season on Sunday when they take on the Blues, whose roster was thinned out due to the U23 US Women’s National Team Camp from June 7-14. The Blues will be without Aubrey Bledsoe, Abby Dahlkemper, Caprice Dydasco, Sarah Killion, Taylor Smith, Katie Stengel, and Lynn Williams.
On game day, fans can enter the StubHub Center through Gate D off Victoria Street and park in Lot 16. More information on the venue is available at bluessoccerclub.com.
