WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio – The Dayton Dutch Lions jumped out to a 5-0 lead by halftime and added one more early in the second half en route to a 6-2 victory against the Atlanta Silverbacks Sunday afternoon at DOC Stadium.
Midfielder Rose Lavelle was a part of all six goals for Dayton (2-2-0) as she scored four goals and assisted on the other two. She started the game with an assist in the fourth minute before scoring in the sixth, 30th and in stoppage time in the first half. Lavelle assisted on one more goal in the 32nd minute and scored the lone Lady Lion goal in the second half in the 56th minute.
Maddie Clark finally got the Silverbacks (0-4-0) on the board with her first goal the season in the 70th minute. Clark assisted the Silverbacks’ second goal in stoppage time in the second half. Stacey Balaam was on the receiving end of the goal.
The Lady Lions outshot the Silverbacks 11-2 in the first half as they jumped out to the 5-0 lead at halftime.
The Silverbacks will be back in action at Silverbacks Park Friday night, June 6, against the same Dayton Dutch Lions. Tickets are still on sale on the women’s page of atlantasilverbacksfc.com. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Atlanta.
