TUKWILA, Wash. - The LA Galaxy II handed the Seattle Sounders FC Reserves their first loss of the season, 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Starfire Stadium. Chandler Hoffman scored the second-half game-winner for Los Angeles while Marcus Hahnemann made four saves for Sounders FC.
Los Angeles netted the winner in the 76th minute when Aleks Dokovic's cross found Hoffman at the far post and he slotted it past Hahnemann for the game's lone goal.
Seattle nearly scored just five minutes earlier when Cam Weaver flicked a cross into the box from the left side, but Duncan McCormick's headed attempt sailed over the crossbar.
Andy Rose nearly opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Aaron Kovar sent a free kick to the far post where Rose's header was stopped by goalkeeper Cody Laurendi.
Seattle's Sean Okoli created several scoring opportunities throughout the match. In the 42nd minute, he got into the box following a goal kick but was taken down in the box by a well-timed tackle. In the opening minutes of the second half, Okoli sent a pair of dangerous crosses into the box that barely missed his teammates.
Los Angeles hit the goal frame twice. In the third minute, Bradford Jamieson IV cut inside his defender but his shot from the left side of the box bounced off the far post. In the 51st minute, Jack McBean flicked a shot over Hahnemann that caromed off the crossbar and back into play.
Seattle's Tristan Bowen left the match in the 11th minute following a yellow card tackle by Daniel Steres and Andy Rose was replaced by Duncan McCormick in the 33rd minute after suffering an injury.
