DAYTON, Ohio – The Dayton Dutch Lions FC will host the Rochester Rhinos on Friday night in the club's home opener after playing away for the first two games of the 2014 USL PRO season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be played at Beavercreek Stadium, with all the action also available live on the club’s YouTube channel.

“We want to start our 2014 home campaign with a win,” said Head Coach Sid van Druenen. “After a good win in Charlotte last week the boys are ready to put together a solid performance this Friday and take the 3 points.”

Dayton is coming off a win on the road the past weekend, as they defeated the Charlotte Eagles 1-0 at the Queens Sports Complex. A well-fought battle saw defender Brock Granger score his first professional goal, which proved to be the only goal of the game. The goal earned Granger a spot on the USL PRO Team of the Week, along with goalkeeper Matt Williams, who made some very important saves to earn the shutout for the Lions.

“It was a great game to watch for the neutral supporter,” van Druenen said. “Both teams tried to play attacking soccer and that created many chances for both teams, off course we are happy that we took the win and the focus now is on Friday’s game versus Rochester.”

Friday’s game will be the second of the new USL PRO season for the Rhinos, who are coming off a 3-1 loss against Orlando City and will be looking for a better result against Dayton. The Rhinos' roster has a lot of new faces, including a player that spent preseason with Dayton’s affiliate, the Columbus Crew, center back Patrick Slogic.

The Dutch Lions have partnered with Wright Patterson Air Force Base in hosting a Military Appreciation Night. Highlights of the event will be the Air Force Honor Guard, National Anthem singer and a special presentation for some base leaders and airmen.

Make sure to arrive early for our home opener Friday night at Beavercreek High School. Team Fastrax will perform a skydive to deliver our game ball before the match. Then, at halftime, the juggling king from Holland, Stefan Molendijk will be performing.
