ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City SC announced today that the club will receive Midfielder Brian "Cobi" Span on loan from Major League Soccer (MLS) side FC Dallas for the 2014 USL PRO seaon, pending USSF approval.
The 22-year-old was acquired by FC Dallas in a weighted lottery conducted by MLS in January of 2014, after spending the past two seasons with Swedish first-division side Djurgårdens IF where he made 14 appearances and scored one goal.
The arrival of Span adds to the plethora of midfielders acquired by Heath and the technical staff this season, with 10 midfielders currently on the roster. Prior to turning pro, Span played for Reading United in the PDL, and compete colleagiately for the University of Virginia.
Although the loan is effective for the entire 2014 season, FC Dallas has the right to recall Span at any time during the season.
