AUSTIN, Texas -- The Austin Aztex are proud to announce the return of Aztex trio Sito Seoane, Mikey Ambrose, and Travis Golden for the 2014 season, pending USL approval.

Seoane, a 25-year-old forward from Houston, proved to be a dangerous attacking player for the Aztex in their 2013 postseason run when he had five goals in four games in the PDL Playoffs, including the game-winning goal in each of the Aztex’s four victories on the way to the championship. Seoane was born in Miami and was raised in Spain before he enrolled in college at San Jacinto College, where he was named an All-American in 2013 when he scored 30 goals and added 14 assists in 22 games played, leading the NJCAA in points scored. Seoane was listed on the preseason roster for Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo in the preseason, where he scored two goals.

Ambrose, a 20-year-old defender from Frisco, appeared in four games for the 2013 Aztex at left back, scoring one goal and adding an assist. Ambrose had a strong sophomore season at the University of Maryland after his time with the Aztex, where he started in 25 games for the Terrapins and was an All-ACC Second Team honoree. Ambrose was a member of the FC Dallas Academy program and was a member of the US U-17 and U-18 national teams and is currently a member of the US U-20 national team.

Golden, a 21-year-old defender from Austin, was a starting centerback for the Aztex in 2012 and helped the squad concede the fewest goals in the Southern Conference. The left-footed James Bowie High School graduate appeared in 13 games and logged more than 1,000 minutes in 2012, but missed the 2013 season due to injury. Golden recovered from his injury in time to earn all-Big South recognition for the third straight hear in his senior season at Campbell. In January, Golden was selected with the 12th pick in the fourth round of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft by DC United.

After the recent signings, the Aztex roster is now at 16 players, 13 of whom are returning players.

The 2014 preseason begins with a match versus Southwestern University on Friday, April 4. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at Southwestern University’s home field in Georgetown. All preseason games are free and open to the public. The title defense begins with the regular season opener with at House Park on Saturday, May 10 in the Mid South Division versus the Houston Dutch Lions.
