PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Riverhounds are pleased to announce the signing of forward Collins John.

John, a 28-year old striker from the Netherlands spent five years in the English Premier League for Fulham where he tallied 20 goals in 92 appearances between 2004 and 2009.

“Signing a player who has successfully performed on the world's biggest stage is undoubtedly monumental for our club,” said Riverhounds CEO Jason Kutney, “and signing him at such a young age is obviously exciting.”

John made 17 appearances, scoring three goals with the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer in 2010. John was part of the Netherlands under-21 squad that won the 2006 European Championship in Portugal. He also had two international appearances with the Netherlands senior squad in 2004.

John is the fourth addition to the Riverhounds roster from the 2013 season. He joins forward Joseph Ngwenya, midfielder Anthony Obodai, and defender Brian Fekete.
