TAMPA, Fla. – The Super-20 League announced its First 11 rankings for the 2013 season today, recognizing the league’s top clubs on a competitive and administrative basis. Plano, Texas-based TFC was named the top overall club of 2013, following a season where it posted a perfect 8-0-0 regular season record and advanced to the Super-20 League Championships at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
TFC, which finished 2-1-0 in group play at the championships to miss out on a spot in the semifinals, is one of three Mid South Division clubs to make the First 11, with Laredo Heat SC coming in at No. 6 and Alamo SC at No. 8.
TFC finished well clear of second-place IMG Academy in the rankings, with Reading United AC placing third for the second consecutive year and championship semifinalist St. Louis Scott Gallagher at No. 4.
No. 5 Potomac SC also finished 2-1-0 in group play at the championships, and No. 7 Junior Lone Star FC was 1-1-1 as both missed out on the semifinals. Beachside FC of CT came in at No. 9, while the Toronto Lynx Jrs., who bowed out in overtime in the semifinals at the Super-20 Championships, were ranked No. 10 for the second consecutive year. Rounding out the First 11 is the Ottawa Fury, who dropped from the No. 2 spot in 2012.
