PLANT CITY, Fla. -- VSI Tampa Bay FC held the third-placed Richmond Kickers to a 0-0 draw on Sunday night at Plant City Stadium. Back to back games on the road tested the Kickers this weekend in Florida. The Kickers' point against VSI came only 24 hours after they had defeated currentl league-leader Orlando City 2-0 at the Florida Citrus Bowl.
Tampa Bay created many goal scoring opportunities in the first half building the ball up patiently through the midfield and were able to spring balls to the flanks feeding Alex Freitas and Richard Dixon. Sallieu Bundu delivered an exciting performance for VSI, holding the ball up well. and coming close to finding the back of the net on a handful of opportunities.
Although VSI supplied an abundance of shots, Kickers’ keeper Andrew Dykstra delivered a perfect performance keeping VSI scoreless. VSI goalkeeper Alex Horwath, not to be outdone, secured a clean sheet as well as he led VSI's defense in denying Richmond’s attack.
