QUEBEC CITY, QC -
In their final road game of the regular season the Fury shut down the Quebec City Amiral and Alyscha Mottershead was the difference for the second consecutive game as the Fury reclaimed top spot in the W-League's Central Division with a 1-0 victory.

Jasmine Phillips collected the shutout in goal despite not facing a shot. The Fury (6-1-2) now sit two points clear of second-place Laval (5-1-3) and four points ahead of third-place Toronto (4-0-4).

After a disappointing start to the first half Friday night in Laval, the Fury came out a much brighter side on Saturday afternoon in Quebec City. In the 10th minute Emily Gielnik's free kick was stopped by former Fury W-League keeper Cynthia Leblanc, but Mottershead put home the rebound for her fourth goal of the season and third of the weekend.

Ottawa continued to press for a second and after outshooting the Amiral 4-0 in the opening half, the Fury took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Ottawa pushed for an insurance marker to start the second half, but found itself caught offside on eight occasions in the half - 12 total in the game. The Fury had a handful of set pieces, but were unable to break down the Amiral defense. As a team the Fury were solid defensively as the Amiral failed to record a shot.

The two teams will meet against next weekend when the Fury host the Amiral on July 7 for their annual 'Think Pink' game in support of Breast Cancer Action Ottawa. After their match on July 7 the Fury will prepare for their final two games of the regular season against rivals Laval (July 10) and Toronto (July 13).
