TAMPA, Fla. – Reigning USL PRO Most Valuable Player Kevin Molino of Orlando City is set to lead a contingent of 16 USL alumni set to compete in this summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup. USL alumni will be represented on four national team squads for this summer’s tournament, set to kick off on Sunday, July 7 in Pasadena, Calif.

Molino, who has scored five goals and added 12 assists for the Lions in the past three seasons, is one of two USL representatives selected by Trinidad and Tobago for the tournament. He will be joined by former Charlotte Eagles forward Darryl Roberts, who now plays for Turkish side Samsunspor.

One current and one former teammate of Molino’s will team up to represent Haiti in the tournament, with Lions midfielder Jean Alexandre and current Sporting Kansas City full back Mechack Jerom both being selected after good recent performances against Italy and Spain in international exhibitions. They are joined by former Chicago Fire PDL midfielder Pascal Millien, who currently plays for Sligo Rovers in Ireland.

A number of USL alumni will also suit up for the United States, led by former Seattle Sounder Herculez Gomez and newly-signed San Jose Earthquake Clarence Goodson, who played in the PDL for the Colorado Rapids U-23 before turning professional. Other PDL alumni in the U.S. squad include Corey Ashe (Virginia Beach), Tony Beltran (LA Legends), Sean Johnson (Atlanta Blackhawks) and Michael Parkhurst (IMG Bradenton).

Canada also has five representatives with USL ties, with both Marcus Haber and Randy Edwini-Bonsu having played for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the USL First Division before the club’s elevation to MLS. Former Whitecaps FC U-23 players Adam Straith, Russell Teibert and Simon Thomas are also included in the squad.
