QUEENS, N.Y. – F.C. New York looks forward to hosting its second USL PRO home game of the season this Saturday as the Harrisburg City Islanders come to Belson Stadium on the campus of St. John’s University for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

Saturday’s game will be the first meeting between the two teams and marks F.C. New York’s fourth game of the USL PRO season. After a slow start to both club’s seasons, each team will be aiming for its first victory.

F.C. New York (0-2-1) fell 2-1 to Orlando City in its home opener last weekend, the second defeat at the hands of the Lions the club has suffered this season. After trailing at halftime, Owen Morrison equalized for New York early in the second half, only for Orlando’s Lewis Neal to grab his side victory with a late free kick.

Due to bad luck with the weather early in the season, Harrisburg has only played once in USL PRO so far, twice seeing its home opener postponed due to heavy rains. The City Islanders fell in their only outing of the season so far, losing 1-0 to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds two weeks ago.

While the City Islanders have an experienced side, the game offers F.C. New York a good opportunity to face a team that might not be at its sharpest due to the lack of games it has played so far this season.

“The team has been improving each week and deserved something in our home opener against Orlando,” New York coach Matt Weston said. “We have worked hard again since the weekend and are relishing the opportunity to put on a good show against Harrisburg in front of our home fans.

“[Harrisburg coach] Bill [Beecher] will have his team well prepared and I expect a real battle but we are looking forward to the contest and hoping to take the three points.”
