VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Virginia Beach PDL Piranhas will hit the road this Saturday as they travel to West Field High School in Chantilly Virginia to take on in-state rival the Northern Virginia Royals. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Piranhas are currently 1-2-1 with four points and the Royals are looking for their first win at 0-2-2. Saturday night's game is the second meeting of the season between the two teams, with the first ending in a 1-1 draw at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex on May 25. The Piranhas took the lead in that contest as Patrick Thompson found the back of the net off a chance created by JerJer Gibson, but the Royals were able to hit back with 14 minutes to play through A.J. Sheta to earn a point.
“We are looking forward to visiting Northern Virginia this Saturday,” said Piranhas head coach Matt Busch. “With this past weekend off from competition the boys are eager to get back on the field and with all players available we are excited for our rematch.”
The Piranhas will be back at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex for only their second home match of the season so far on Wednesday night as they face the defending South Atlantic Division champions the Carolina Dynamo. For ticket, camp, and sponsor information please visit www.vbpiranhas.com.
