HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The Harrisburg City Islanders are proud to announce the signing of midfielder JT Noone, pending USSF approval. Noone will be a late addition to the Islanders’ roster in the inaugural season of the USL PRO.
Noone started his professional career with the Harrisburg City Islanders last year after a trial with Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union. After an impressive 15 games with the City Islanders, the Union made their move and signed him on July 30, 2010. Noone made his first appearance as an official member of the Union against one of Scotland’s most prestigious and iconic clubs, Glasgow Celtic F.C.
Noone is not only a familiar face to City Islanders’ fans, but also to the Harrisburg area as well. Graduating from Central Dauphin High School in 2006, Noone was known to be his team’s most dangerous asset with his fancy foot skills and speed. Local clubs he played for through his youth career include Coventry, Super Nova FC, LDC United, and EPYSA’s (Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association) Olympic Development program.
While attending Temple University, he would become one of the school’s most successful players of all-time. Noone led the Owls in assists for three straight years (2007-09) and left as the school’s all-time leader in that category. At Temple, he was a two-time Atlantic-10 All-Conference First Team pick and a two-time All-Region First Team selection. As a junior in 2008, he became the first Owl in 22 years to earn All-America honors with a Second Team nod. He was also a three-time ESPN The Magazine Men’s Soccer Academic All-American selection. Prior to his senior year, Noone played with the Ocean City Barons of the Premier Development League.
