TAMPA, Fla. – United Soccer Leagues released the U15 age group qualification allotments today for the 2013 Super Y-League North American Finals, presented by Nike. A total of 12 boys’ teams and eight girls’ teams from the Mid Atlantic, North Atlantic, South Atlantic, New England, Midwest and Southeast divisions will meet at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, from December 5-9 to compete for the Super Y-League championship.
The 2012 U14 champion Ironbound SC returns for the 2013 U15 Boys’ season. Also returning is the Ottawa Fury, whom Ironbound defeated 5-4 in the finals last year. The North Atlantic Division, featuring 13 teams, will recieve four finals bids, while the New England, Midwest and Southest divisions will receive two bids each and the South Atlantic and Mid Atlantic will receive one.
On the girls side, 2012 U14 runner-up Mequon United returns to the SYL for the U15 season, and they will be joined by familiar foes out of the New England Division - the MPS Bulldogs/Renegades - who finished as 2012 semifinalists. The Mid Atlantic, North Atlantic, and New England divisions will receive 2 bids each, and the Midwest and Southeast divisions will get one.
