Pittsburgh Riverhounds News Release -- www.riverhounds.com

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Pittsburgh Riverhounds (1-2-1) will host a Japan Relief Fund this Friday, May 6th for their game against the Charleston Battery (3-1-1). All proceeds raised from the “We’re full of Shin” T-Shirt Sale will be donated to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan last month. The American Red Cross of Southwestern Pennsylvania and the Japan Association of Greater Pittsburgh (JAGP) will be present for the event.

The Riverhounds will be raising funds based on an original T-Shirt sale. The caricature design was inspired from an action photo of Shintaro Harada. A Japanese footballer and second year Riverhound, Harada has made an impact on and off the field for the Club since his arrival. The Riverhounds organization believes that it is only fitting to help Japan by any means possible.

The “We’re full of Shin” T-Shirt will be available for purchase on game day. The cost for each T-Shirt is $20, with all proceeds being donated to the American Red Cross.

Members of the JAGP will take part in the opening ceremonies Friday, by performing the National Anthem and walking out with the Riverhounds and Battery.

Tickets for the game can be purchased by calling the Riverhounds office (412.539.1191) or at the ticket gates on game day.
