W-League News Release

Friday, May 10, 2013

TAMPA, Fla. – The W-League and W-20 unveiled new web homes today, with the leagues each enjoying a distinct web address while sharing content and interactivity. It was recently announced that the leagues would align operationally, and the new web sites were created to reflect this both visually and functionally.

The redesign of the sites also focuses on the branding of each league. While fans still have the ability to access other leagues, the identities of the W-League and W-20 will now reside together with the focus solely on promoting the women’s game.

The W-League, the first and longest-standing women’s league in North America, will offer news, features, videos, a match center and social media interaction at www.WLeaguesoccer.com. The W-20 site, highlighting the premier North American under-20 women’s league, can be found at www.W20soccer.com and will share written, video and social media content with the W-League site.

“As we continue to establish the close working relationship between the W-League and W-20, it’s natural that they would enjoy a seamless online connection as well,” W-League & W-20 Senior Director Amanda Duffy said. “These new sites allow the leagues to continue to highlight their place as the leaders in adult women’s soccer player development while offering an easy to navigate, enjoyable experience for fans and potential partners to learn more about their roles in the North American women’s soccer pyramid.

"We wanted the new design to be clean, dynamic, functional, and user-friendly." Duffy continued. "I think we were able to construct something that achieves all four of these aspects while offering an enormous amount of information."

Among the highlights of WLeaguesoccer.com and W20soccer.com will be new W-League Weekly videos, featuring host Nicholas Murray and Duffy, which focus on all the happenings throughout both leagues. Other new features of the websites are the league tables and match center, which allow fans to easily see which games are next on the schedule and where they’re favorite teams sit in the standings.

The new W-League and W-20 sites were designed and developed by Demosphere International, Inc.
