CORONA, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Blues Soccer Club is pleased to announce Centennial High School’s Husky Stadium in Corona, Calif. will be the venue to four home games in their 2011 USL PRO season.
“Centennial High School not only is a great venue in terms of facilities, but its backdrop of the mountains and surrounding communities makes it a family-friendly environment,” said Blues Associate Head Coach and Director of Youth Operations Shayon Jalayer.
The location of the venue provides Corona and its surrounding communities the opportunity to be part of a professional team.
“It also helps to be close to our youth club and premier academy and allows our youth players easy access to the senior team,” said Jalayer. “The folks at Centennial were fantastic in working with us and we are absolutely thrilled to be able to be playing at such a beautiful arena.”
The Los Angeles Blues are set to showcase Husky Stadium when they take on the Charlotte Eagles on May 12. The other matches set to play at Centennial High School will be against the Harrisburg City Islanders on June 24, Puerto Rico United on July 31, and Sevilla on August 10.
“Centennial High School is proud to host the LA Blues professional soccer matches in the Inland Empire for the 2011 season,” said Bill Gunn, Athletic Director of Centennial High School.
The Inland Empire is home to numerous minor league teams that include baseball, basketball, and hockey. This is the chance to provide the residents of the surrounding communities with an affordable and quality sports entertainment being showcased by the Los Angeles Blues Soccer Club.
“For many years, the Inland Empire has supported the growth of soccer and we are thrilled to be able to bring fans from all over the area to these tremendous matches” Gunn said. “We look forward to professional soccer becoming a regular opportunity for fans in the area to attend.”
