Antigua Barracuda FC News Release -- www.antiguabarracudafc.com

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua -- Antigua Barracuda FC will go into Friday’s USL PRO game against River Plate riding a wave of confidence having inflicted a heavy 7-0 defeat on Puerto Rico United on Wednesday afternoon in western Puerto Rico. The team travelled back to San Juan early Thursday afternoon and got their first opportunity to train at Roberto Clemente Walker Stadium in preparation for their next outing.

Captain George Dublin, who filled the right back position, enforced as a result of the two yellow cards Roy Gregory received in the home game against Sevilla FC said, “Although the score line is a little flattering, we are aware that there are no easy games in this league and we know that teams will be gunning for us, especially after this result, but we will continue to look after our strategies first and seek to impose them as best as we can on the opposition.”

Having scored four goals before half time Peter “Big Pete” Byers was happy to break his duck in such an emphatic way but remained sober to the challenges ahead.

“This was a good result for us but we cannot become complacent or overconfident. There is a long way to go in this league and with such a tight schedule we must take care not to drop our guard against any team,” he said.

On a personal note he concluded, “I had a few debts to pay from some goals I did not put away in out last home game so I am happy to get these four, every day will not be like this but I will continue to work hard for the team.”

Antigua Barracuda FC have an important few days ahead with River Plate PR and International Division leaders the Los Angeles Blues to complete their three-game road trip, but with results as seen in the last two games, optimism, hope and belief dwell deep within the ranks.
