PLAINVIEW, N.Y. - The Long Island Rough Riders are pleased to welcome back forward Grace Hawkins for the 2013 W-League season. Hawkins ran away with the points and goal-scoring titles in 2012, and was named the W-League MVP.

A former Hofstra and Villanova standout, Hawkins made her W-League debut in 2003 for Long Island, and her hard work and perseverance paid off with a career season in 2012 as she tallied 17 goals and 38 points in 12 games for the Northeast Division champions.

The 25-year-old Northport resident spent her formative years competing for the Cold Spring Harbor/Huntington Lady Riders of the Long Island Junior Soccer League, the largest league in the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA). Hawkins also played for Northport High School, where she was all-state, all-county and all-league.

It was then off to Villanova, where she played for three years while red-shirting in 2007. She joined Hofstra in 2010 for her senior year, helping lead the Pride to the Colonial Athletic Association regular season title.

This year Hawkins looks to return stronger than ever to top her 2012 MVP performance. Hawkins' explosive presence on the front line will be valuable to the Rough Riders and undoubtedly a key to success.
