FULLERTON, Calif. – The LA Blues are back in action on Wednesday night as they take on Orlando City SC at Titan Stadium on the campus of Cal State Fullerton at 5 p.m. PT. This will be the Blues’ third game of the season as they look to bounce back from defeat last week against Tampa Bay.
Orlando City started off its USL PRO season with a 3-1 win a Sunday night against Phoenix FC. The Lions got goals from Dom Dyer, Long Tan and Kevin Molino. The Blues midfield will have their hands full trying to shut down Orlando midfielder and playmaker Jamie Watson. The other player to watch for is USL PRO player of the week, Molino, who along with his goal notched an assist during Sunday’s game.
The Blues are looking for their second win of the season and for a chance to remain undefeated at Titan Stadium. While the Blues fought hard in their last game, they fell 1-0 to VSI Tampa Bay FC. Defender Cory Miller was rewarded for his strong defensive play by being named to the USL PRO Team of the Week. Captain Allan Russell was given honorable mention honors for his leadership and command over the midfield.
The game marks an opportunity for Blues forward George Davis IV and midfielder Rodrigo Lopez to face their former club. Both players spent time with Orlando last season, and are eager to take on their former team. Last season, the Blues were 0-2-1 against Orlando City.
Tomorrow night’s game will be live streamed on USLNation.com at 5 p.m. PT. Tickets are still available for the game and can be purchased at http://lablues.ticketfly.com.
