TAMPA, Fla. – Youth soccer players will continue to benefit from the recent partnership between USL and the National Guard as Rage Soccer Club and the S.C. United FC Bantams will host free youth clinics May 4-5.
Both clubs will host 75+ high school-age players each day, with boys participating on May 4 and girls on May 5. The clinics will feature drills and games under the supervision of professional trainers, and are designed to challenge every player and take them to the next level of their development. Each day will also feature a National Guard educational benefits presentation for players and parents.
Rage SC will host its clinics at Daniel Boone Area High School in Birdsboro, Penn. The free camps will run 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with small-sided games concluding each day’s activities.
"Rage SC is extremely excited to be working with both USL and the National Guard to offer this clinic,” Rage Operations Director Ged Quinn said. “This is an excellent opportunity for the high school-aged players in the Berks County area to get some great soccer training and preparation for future college careers. We are honored to be one of the clubs involved within this program and would like to thank both USL and the National Guard for their continued support in helping to make this a great experience for all involved."
The S.C. United FC Bantams will host their clinics at BB&T Fields at Ballentine Park in Ballentine, S.C., with the sessions running from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. both days. The clinics will include technical and tactical sessions and will conclude with a tournament.
“Our PDL organization, the SC United FC Bantams, is excited about the opportunity to host the National Guard soccer clinic May 4-5,” Bantams President Mark Riddle said. “The SC United FC youth club is recognized as one of the largest premier youth clubs in the United States and we are privileged to be partnered with them to host this wonderful clinic. We want to offer every player an opportunity to learn more about the game of soccer, and to hear about what the National Guard can offer them once they graduate from high school. We hope after the clinic each young person will have a better understanding of the game of soccer and of what the National Guard can offer them for the future.”
Participants at both events will receive lunch and a t-shirt, water bottle and cinch bag, courtesy of the National Guard.
"The National Guard is honored to be working in conjunction with USL, Rage SC and the S.C. United FC Bantams to host local high school-aged soccer players in these upcoming clinics,” SFC David Therrell said. “Our goal is to provide these young athletes with exceptional training and an opportunity to learn about the benefits of the National Guard. It is important to us that these players are given the opportunity to learn more about playing soccer in college from college coaches and the many benefits of National Guard service from local Guardsmen, all at no cost to them."
