Springfield Demize News Release -- www.demizesoccer.com

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Sean Fraser, a former professional and collegiate soccer player, has been named the new head coach of the Springfield Demize. Fraser, originally from Newcastle, England, is currently the Head Coach for the Midland University Warriors Men’s Soccer Team in Fremont, Nebraska, a club coach for Omaha FC (Nebraska’s largest soccer club), and is on staff with the Nebraska Olympic Development Program.

While playing soccer at Bethel University (McKenzie, TN), Fraser earned a B.S. degree in Physical Education, Teaching, and Coaching and his M.S. in Education. Even though Fraser was an excellent soccer player, he wants to be known for his coaching skills.

“I want to earn others’ respect because I am a good coach and not because I was a good player,” says Fraser, “In my opinion, too many people assume being a good player will translate into being a good coach and that isn’t necessarily true.”

Fraser currently holds an UEFA A license in coaching, and has more than 10 years experience as a head coach, working with collegiate, secondary and youth soccer teams. Fraser has coached 16 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) All-Conference players and one academic All-American in two seasons at Midland University while guiding the team to two GPAC championship finals.

“Coaching is not a job, it is my passion,” Fraser says, “and it is what I have always wanted to do.”

When asked why he wanted to coach the Springfield Demize, Fraser said “I love the game and coaching PDL players is a logical progression in my career to challenge myself.” Fraser also said he was excited for the season to begin and looks forward to meeting Springfield’s soccer enthusiasts. Fraser will join the Demize on April 29.
