PHOENIX -- With the inaugural season kicking off in less than two weeks, Phoenix FC added two more players to bring the total roster to 24 players. The Wolves are pleased to have signed former West Virginia University forward Peabo Doue, and former Portland Timbers U-23s midfielder Cameron Vickers to their squad.
"Our team is really beginning to jell and Peabo and Cam fit in very well," said Phoenix FC Head Coach Dave Robertson. "Cam is lightning quick and Peabo will bring a great scoring threat up front."
Doue arrives in Phoenix after a solid college career for the Mountaineers. In the past three seasons, he recorded eight goals and 12 assists. A former member of the D.C. United Academy, Doue played in a defensive role during his junior and senior season in Morgantown, W.V., earning All-Mid American Conference Second Team honors as a senior last fall.
Vickers played in 15 regular-season games for the Timbers U-23s in the PDL in 2012, recording four goals and eight assists as he helped his side reach the Western Conference semifinals. Vickers played his college soccer for Sonoma State University, and recorded three goals and 12 assists in his senior season in 2010.
These new additions join those already signed by the Wolves, including forward Darren Mackie, defenders Devon Grousis and Cyprian Hedrick, goalkeeper Andrew Weber and forward Danny Toia. Phoenix kicks off its inaugural season in USL PRO on Saturday, March 23 as it visits the LA Blues at 7:30 p.m. PT, with the club’s home opener set for Sun Devil Soccer Stadium against fellow expansion side VSI Tampa Bay FC.
