FULLERTON, Calif. — The LA Blues announced today that defender James “Jimmy” Turner has joined the team for the 2013 USL PRO season. Turner joins the team after playing four years for the University of California, Irvine.
“The Blues are excited to have Jimmy join the team,” said Warren Barton, the team’s general manager and technical director. “As captain, he led UC-Irvine to their best record his senior year, and was part of the most successful four-year class in Irvine’s history.”
In his senior year, Turner started in 22 games, scoring two goals and notching two assists as the Anteaters won the Big West Championship and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He finished his Anteater career with 82 matches, with three goals and seven assists. Turner holds the Irvine record for appearances in postseason matches, with 10, including all seven of the program’s Big West Tournament matches.
The LA Blues start the 2013 USL PRO campaign on March 23 at home against Phoenix FC. For 2013 season tickets, please visit lablues.ticketfly.com.
